In addition to a change on a previous project, this long-time customer also had to make changes to their shipping system. With the additional products being adding to the shipping requirements they had to have a more dynamic system that would be able to pick products based on their customer’s requirement. Tekno worked with them to develop a layout and plan to implement (3) of our Storage and Retrieval cranes. These systems would take the completed product and store it in a static racking system. The software system would keep track of the inventory in the racking and allow quick search and query of the products stored. This system would compare the existing inventory with the customer’s requirement and pull the product accordingly. The conveyor system that accompanied the cranes would store product in “ready to ship” order so they could be quickly loaded into trailers as they would pull them to ship.
